When you get to the venue, follow the direction of the marshals and park in a safe and orderly position.

1.Go to the 'signing on' desk at the event and sign on.

2.Walk and inspect the track. (if you wish) please ask an event official if it is safe to do so.

3.Take your bike through scrutineering and onto the start line at least half an hour before the start of the race. All the different classes will be well marked, make sure you get into the right class.

4.Take your fuel and spares to the designated refuelling area.

5.Get your kit on.

6.Get to your bike at least 15 minutes before the start.

7.Listen to the rider briefing.

8. Warm your bike up when you see the "Warm your engines" sign

9.Wait for the start with a 'dead' engine. Get ready went shown the 10second board, set off when you hear the starter shout "go" and the board changes to "GO"

10.Don't go mad on the first few laps, get into a rhythm, relax and remember to enjoy yourself.

There will be other beginners at their first event, you won't be the worst rider on the track, so take it easy and ….relax!
